Permission-based marketing is what I focus on the most in these lessons.  It means separating your ideal customers from non-buyers by focusing on common interests or niche appeal and then requesting their permission to market to them, through an opt-in.

Today, the market is made of millions, if not billions, of niche interests.  This is fantastic progress for the world, and it’s fantastic news for the online business you’re building.  More than ever, nothing is for everybody…not that it ever was.

One of the best things about marketing these days is not only the customers you can find and retain on your own, but also the opportunities you can seize by building your own niche audience.  This eliminates old school gate keepers like publishing houses, retail licensing firms, and TV producers.  You have the opportunity to create the audience for just about any marketable thing you want to build.
